Ethics and unethical pharmaceutical industry
Ethics in Pharmaceutical Industry
A person who is going to open or introduce a any type of business , he must need to know about the ehics of business. In Pharmaceutical industry ethics play a vital role for the growth of the industry .
In todays world pharmaceutical industry is rapidly growing which result in the question of the pharmaceutical ethics. Ethics mean what is right and what is wrong which is accepted by the society . Ethics is framed by rules and regulations to grow and operate the business. Firstly the pharmaceutical company's reperesentative meet the doctor and introduce them by giving the knowledge about the new drugs/medicines that is launched by their pharmaceutical company. These trial package is given to the poor patients free of cost to check that weather the quality of the product is good or bad. poor people accept this free drugs as they didn't have money to buy and when they get this drugs they feel happy but the real truth is else. In today's era many pharmaceutical company doing this type of business to earn money . But the ethics say they didn't harms the poor people of illitrate people by giving harmful medicene . They must follow the ethics , their rules and regulations . They shouldn't follow the principle of "Everything is fare in war and competition." they simply want to achieve their goal. the real motto of 'service to mankind, poor patients' is lost.. this is happen because there is no law to punish those guilty of the unethical practice; and the government refuses to blink and as a result patients are forced to buy costly medicines..

ReplyDeleteThe central problem with the pharmaceutical industry is its lack of competition, a characteristic protected by current drug patent laws. Until pharmaceutical companies embrace their moral duty to provide drugs as an end rather than as a means to profit, there will be a need for government intervention..
ReplyDeleteIn India, there is lack of transparency in conducting clinical trials for drugs, with a view that the rules were not being followed. ... Globally, the pharma industry has been under fire due to its aggressive marketing and unethical promotion of drugs and the nexus it enjoys with healthcare professionals.
DeleteYes compitition is very essential for betterment of market. Competition leads the organisation to work ethically.

ReplyDeleteGovernment should take action in these types of activities
ReplyDeleteThrough these actions, local governments create—or restrict—opportunities for physical activity for children. Local governments can support physical activity in other ways as well. Parks and recreation departments, for example, often run sports leagues or offer dance, gymnastics, or other active classes.
